Recent Eats + Weekly Workouts

Hello! Happy hump day :) Just wanted to check in before I head to work! Wednesdays are always a nice reminder that the weekend is only two days away. It's also nice because it means that most of my long days are over. On Tuesdays after work I head down to a City Fitness gym on the other side of the city to workout before I teach from 7-8. I don't get home until about 9:30 because the trains run every hour and I catch it at 8:52. Womp long day. But I can't complain because I do get paid to workout and do what I love so I'm very lucky for that!

Monday was also a long day and I couldn't wait to get home and relax. Relaxing turned to cooking in the kitchen for about an hour and a half, although cooking is very therapeutic to me.

Dinner was roasted veggies with sautéed ground beef and kale. Topped with Parmesan cheese and sriracha (always sriracha.) ground beef and roasted veggies I also whipped up my lunch for yesterday and today. A big hearty salad that I add chicken to at work. It has Trader Joe's sweet leaf lettuce, tomatoes, red onion, cucumber, feta cheese, chick peas and fresh dill. lunch saladAlong with this salad, I bring many snacks. I like to nosh all day so I make sure I have plenty of healthy snacks ready to go. I brought some leftover ground beef & veggies, an apple and these protein balls (except made a new batch with peanut butter instead of almond butter and they're way better!)

Last week I managed to sneak in some quick workouts despite it being a busy week (who am I kidding, that's every week.)

Sunday - 4.35 mile run after my family left. This was a good one!

Monday - REST :)

Tuesday - This workout from peanutbutterrunner.com

Wednesday - HUMID 3 mile run. This one sucked a little.

Thursday - 3x15 reps of the following exercises: Dumbbell deadlift + squat jump, lunge with pulse (15 each side), single arm dumbbell row (15 each side), pullover with sit-up, heel tap bicycle crunches on bench, row 2 minutes.

Friday - 5x10 reps of the following exercises: Band assisted pull-ups, lunge jumps (10 each side,) deadlifts, thrusters, push-ups, burpee box jumps. This one was great and can be done in under an hour!

Saturday - REST :)

Sunday - 5 mile run. This was great except for the last mile when my earphones stopped working.

Weekend Getaway - Ocean City, MD

Happy Monday! How was everyone's weekend? Mine was spent in Ocean City, MD with Michael and some of his family. I was really excited since I had not been before and I was seriously craving some beach time. It's been too long! We arrived on Friday just in time for the beautiful sunset.sunset On Saturday we woke up late, had some eggs and bacon and headed out to the beach around noon. We didn't leave until 7. It was perfect! I don't think I really moved from my beach chair that whole time and that's exactly what I wanted to do. Because Saturday consisted mainly of sitting, I woke up earlier on Sunday morning to get in a run before going to the beach once more. I ended up doing 5 flat, sweaty miles. After refueling with some breakfast, we all headed back down to the beach again for a few hours.

Michael and I wanted to hit the road around 6, so we went for an early dinner at the Crab Bag. It was really fun and really messy. I kind of wish I could eat on a big paper table cloth with my hands all the time. Lady like? The Crab Bag Dinner

Another highlight of the weekend: finishing this 1,000 piece puzzle. I've decided that I really enjoy puzzles and need to buy some for my apartment. They definitely increase concentration and alertness. I'm all for games that are good for the brain! We've been playing Bananagrams at work when we can't focus and it really does help!

puzzleAnother random thought - how cute is this romper? I got it from Loft for half off! It's super comfortable and I love that it can easily be dressed up. Find it here.

Halfway Through March? #TBT

Gooood afternoon! This morning started with a HUMID three mile run and the usual breakfast of eggs, bacon & fruit. I can tell that summer is nearing in Florida.

Today feels like a Friday for me because tomorrow I'm heading up to Auburn University with my co-workers at the gym to attend the Evolve Fitness Conference!  I'll have a recap post up about the whole conference up after the weekend. Don't get me wrong, UF's gyms will always be my absolute favorite but I am SO excited to see Auburn's recreation facility, which is always ranked among the top in the nation.

Anyway, can we just stop and think for a hot minute how it is already halfway through March?! There's a month and a half left of school. In light of graduation right around the corner, I would like to do a quick #tbt and reflect on how awesome this entire year has been.

For one, I took a cross country road trip to Los Angeles before moving to NYC last summer for an internship. That was quite a crazy summer! One for the books. I might be back there this summer. IDK. Who knows??

And there was my last time going to Florida home games as a student. I will be back. My sister (chica with me in the above Brooklyn Bridge photo) got into UF and will be moving here in the summer. That's four more years that I can come back and pretend to be a student! #ItsgreatUF. ALWAYS.

And just recently for spring break I was lucky enough to visit two new cities I had never been before, D.C. and Philadelphia. They're both awesome. Soon I will have a spring break post to share!

I feel really grateful for all of the opportunities that have come my way. I tend to get stressed a lot on a daily basis with everything I have going on currently (school, job, internship,) but I know that everything I am doing is for a reason. I'm so ready for this last month and a half of school. Hopefully by May 2 I am employed. I just keep telling myself that the big things always work out. Isn't it true?
